Stage 176 – Krasnogorskii to Novaya Chebula

I think you’ll like stage 176. I guess the only thing that you won’t like is that the vast majority of what climbing there is comes after the yellow kite. But the good news is that there isn’t a lot of it.

The rollout is in the forest east of Krasnogorskii and the road descends for ten miles. Ten miles! Even after the crossing of the Gorbunikha river and the Anyushka river at eight and nine miles respectively, close to the town of Stantsionno-Oyashinskiy, the road continues to descend. The descent finally stops at the crossing of the Oyash river at eleven miles by the junction to Oyashinskiy to the north.

The road rises and descends again before climbing back up to the junction to Estonka at fifteen miles. After that it’s lumpy flat with roads going off to Gom at eighteen miles and Baykal’skiy at twenty miles where the Avtodoroga Baykal highway hangs a mile long right hander that sets up the run to the finish line, which itself is on a left hander in the forest as the road meanders back to the other way.

At less than two hundred feet of climbing, this stage is likely to be fast. Grab a wheel and hang on!
