Stage 170 – Kokoshino to Kabinetnoe

This is another one of those ultra lumpy stages with virtually no flat: and it has more climbing in it than the last three stages put together.

Uphill out of the gate, heading east away from Kokoshinskiy, the road cliimbs for a mile into a gentle curve that precedes a mile long descent before a lumpy flat section kicks upwards again at three miles. It’s that kind of a stage. The left hander at five miles runs close by the railway line which is followed by a gradual two mile climb into the forest and a right hander at seven miles.

A steep descent takes you down to the junction to Sekty at nine miles before lumpy climb takes you past two junctions south down to Chulym. The road follows the course of the Chumlym river, heading against the flow of the water, from thirteen to sixteen miles, before finally crossing the river at the road enters the forest just before seventeen miles.

The climb away from the river takes you into and out the forest, and after emerging back out of the other side of the trees, the climb tops out near to Lake Ryamskoye at twenty two miles. From there it’s a quick run downhill to the finish.
