Flat and lumpy with dips at fifteen miles and eighteen miles, neither of which, strangely enough, is due to water. That’s the summary version of stage 161.
The rollout heads immediately into a left hand curve, on the inside of which sits a junction to Dmitriyevskiy after two miles. The road then swings back the other way, going curve, short straight then curve again to the junction off to Severotatarskiy at nine miles. Round the inside of the left hander at fifteen miles is the junction to Novopokrovskiy which sits a mile to the north, just south of the larger town of Tatarsk.
The M51 then crosses the railway at eighteen miles, having climbed up from the second trough, and that sets up the final ‘straight’ which has a tiny right hand bend two miles from the finish.
At less than two hundred and fifty feet of climbing, the stage is guaranteed to be fast and furious, so hang on to that wheel if you can.
