This stage has a bit of everything, but the underlying trend is mainly uphill. The rollout from Nizhnyaya climbs straight from the off but by the time it exits the forest near the junction to Rakhmatova Polyana, the first climb is over. Thats’s followed by a sharp descent to the Omarka river which is crossed at seven miles before a second climb and descent takes you to the Kirmyanka crossing at nine miles.
The ascent away from the Kirmyanka is longer but more gradual than what’s gone before and it peaks at fifteen miles near to Krasnogorskoye. This is essentially a rural stage with little in the way of towns at the roadside although junctions to towns north and south of the Volga highway are frequent every couple of miles or so.
From Krasnogorskoye there is a very gentle descent to the crossing of the Pakshinka river at twenty miles and that’s followed by a much steeper descent down to Pyatiletka which sits on the western bank of the larger Vyatka river south of Mamadysh. That drops you into the two mile long finishing straight, which although still downhill, flattens the nearer it gets to the line.
